umans as the next fastfood craze? Drinking bowls of vomit?! Exploding sheep!?! Yup, this movie gots it all. "Bad Taste" is truly an experiment in, well, the obvious, bad taste. This is a very low budget film from New Zealand made by a little company called Wingnut Productions. They probably spent no more than $10,000 on this flick, and you know what, it shows.

Basic sum up: Aliens (looking like humans) land in a small rural town in New Zealand, kill them, and pack them up for transport to their planet. What are these people for? you may ask. Well, it seems that Homo Sapien is the latests food craze there (cool, huh). Enter our heros, "The Boys": Frank, Ozzy, Derek, and some other guy who's name escapes me. They rock. They roll. They make the movie (especially Derek).

Like I said, this movie was cheaply made, and you can tell. You can actually see a bucket of blood being thrown on-screen at one point. Plenty of goo, gore, death, vomit, blood, brains, various dismembered body parts, and explosions. The film quality is about what you expect, not bad, just a little grainy and dull. And, in spite of (or in addition to) all this, this is one of the best sci-fi/comedy movies you are ever going to see.

The acting makes this movie. The characters are really not all that far out there, even Ozzy, who tries to be. The actors and the characters seemed perfectly matched through out the movie. The script, or lack there off, is also great, delivering such classic lines as "Its Derek, and he's gone ape-shit!" and other such cleverness. Basiclly, this movie is all about camp. The don't try to hide it, or fight it, they relish it. The makers of this film knew exactly how to make low budget fun, and they did it. If you can find this movie, and are not offended by insane amounts of goop and the like, you have got to see it. I haven't even told you about the good parts.
