My Giant
(1998)
Reviewed by Chris Bjuland
Rating: 10 Beans

his movie is title "My Giant". It should have been titled "My Giant Waste of Time". I would like to thank the Academy and all of Hollywood for continuing to turn out such drivel for the masses to consume.

"My Giant" (hereafter refered to as MG) is the story of an agent named Sam (Billy Crystal, who's nowhere close to funny in this film) who, after seperating from his wife, and losing his last client, makes the chance discovery of the decade (the giant! Duh!). The giant Max is played by Gheorghe Muresan (all 7'7" of him). While Sam tries to win back his old life and tries to exploit Max, Max teaches Sam that the most important things in life are family and love. This is what Max would teach us, too, if we could understand a damn thing he was saying.

This movie pokes fun at Steven Seagle, slanders Shakespear, tells us that it's okay to lie if your heart is in the right place, and promotes unisex children (Hey! It's okay if your son looks and sounds like a girl! Just give him a Giant(tm) for his birthday, and suddenly he's the favorite kid on the block!).

This movie has a runtime of 103 minutes, and, I hate to say this, but it really gives "Bean" a run for it's money. I think this may be the worst movie of 1998 (so far, and I'm sure Hollywood will continue to give us more to choose from).

"My Giant" is rated PG because it contains wrestling circus midgets.
