his is, without a doubt, the cheesiest and most enjoyable bad movie about wildlife on a rampage that you'll ever see!
As is almost always the case in these finctional versions of "When Animals Attack", an outsider from a big city arrives just as the disturbance in the food chain begins, and winds up becoming the hero and saving the love interest and seemingly saving everyone, but there's always the lingering question at the end.
In this case the hero is Mick (Don Scardino, probably best known for appearances on TV's "Law and Order" and "Another World"), who arrives in a small Georgia town during an intense thunderstorm to spend some time with his girlfriend Geri (Patricia Pearcy, "The Goodbye Girl"). The storm has knocked down hundreds of power lines, electrifying the rainsoaked ground. This drives all of the earthworms into a frenzy and they become big, aggressive, more intelligent, and HUNGRY for HUMAN FLESH!
After the earthworms first appear in Mick's egg cream, the movie quickly spirals into a sickeningly enjoyable series of massive earthworm attacks on the people of the town. Watch for the highlight of the movie -- earthworms devour a man alive from the inside, then crowd into his skin and squirm about in a well-choreographed synchronous motion in order to "walk" the man's skin around and make use of his arms and hands!
This movie is so bad yet so fun that you won't soon for get it! But, I must warn you, do not east pasta within 24 hours before or after seeing this movie!
