Uncle Sam
(1996)
Reviewed by Jason Catanese
Rating: 6.5 Beans

ince two other Jasons reviewed this movie before me, I guess it's only natural that we add another to the list.

This is one of those movies that has the hologram box, like "Jack Frost"(awesome)and "Werewolf"(awesome). There's another one called "Invisible Dad", which has no potential whatsoever to be good. I plan on renting that this weekend. This one isn't as good as the other two, but come on, it stars Issac Hayes!

The plot has to do with some war hero, Sam Taylor(hence "Uncle Sam") who died in the war and is now coming back to kill everyone who shows disrespect to our beautiful country during a 4th of July bash, or something like that. It's from the writer and director of "Maniac Cop."

What happened to the beginning of this movie? Uncle Sam comes back to life, shoots a few guys, and then for the next 45 minutes........TALKING. This is a low budget horror film, why bother with any type of plotting? Fast foward to the middle, when Uncle Sam gets into his patriot gear and starts killing everybody. I honestly enjoyed the middle to end parts, it's the way all direct-to-video films should be. Why won't somebody make another nonstop killfest and throw the plot out the window? We need more bodies, flying heads, and hacked genitalia in our society. I'm waiting on "Dead Alive 2". Do you hear me, Peter Jackson?

Issac Hayes is awesome.
