Star Wars
(1999)
Reviewed by Steve Tursi
Rating: 6 Beans

'll keep this one short and sweet (there is a spoiler in here though):

Star Wars was ok - it wasn't a bad movie, but I thought the other 3 were all much, much better. I thought they could have done 3 things to make the movie much much much better:

1. Get a different kid to play anakin. I don't know where they got him from, but he just sucked.
2. Kill that floppy eared guy with the jamaican accent. Early. Like in the first 10 minutes.
3. Have a different way to destroy the enemy ship - the kid flying in there by accident and destroying the power generator by accident was kind of cheesy..

Other than that, the movie was good. 10 points for the excellent dinamation - 20 points for whoever coreographed the fight scenes - 15 points for special effects - 15 points for having the girl turn out to be the queen (that was so cool) - and I loved the story line, as well..

The only other thing that bothers me is that we were lead to believe that the central character in the movie was anakin skywalker, where in actuality, the major story of the movie had very little to do with him (except at the end) and his was the more minor of two simultaneous stories.
